I caught this last night on a 9 inch original just as the full moon was coming out. The fish got airborne on me twice before I got it to the boat. Unfortunately, I hooked into one the night before on a 5 inch minnow that felt A LOT BIGGER than this one, but it was giving me some crazy headshakes, and it got loose before I ever saw it.
Note: If you keep your eyes open while fishing for tiger muskies, you can sometimes see something incredible. These fish will swim like crocodiles with their heads out of the water. I had heard about this behavior, but actually seeing it is truly amazing. In the last few years, I had only seen this happen once. However, I was actually able to see it 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Last night I saw one that was about 15 feet away from my boat, and its head remained out of the water for over 10 seconds. It is a crazy sight to look next to your boat and see a big fish staring back at you

Can you cast to those cruisers? That would be nuts to see some huge cruiser and then cast to it and see it boil on a big AC.
I was only able to try casting to them once while they were swimming like this, and I didn't get any action. I'm not sure if others have had luck casting on them, but I don't see why they wouldn't bite. However, it almost feels like the fish is studying me as if it knows why I am there. _________________
Ya I've seen those Tm's cruisin with their heads above water too and always left me astonished on the purpose....Anyways, nice catchin on some ACs! _________________ The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan
