Great fish, Weez!
Yes, I guess I'm part of your "following"!
You know, guys, Allan brings up an interesting point. Been a bunch of good fish taken recently. Krmp got a real beauty, Ron Lane, Steve Keene, and now this guy by Weez... There might be something going on this year. Heavy winter, slow ice off... We all should get out there and start working hard for the next big Brown! _________________ Mark-O

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I've been fishing for big trout and char on Tahoe for a long time, but I still feel like I learn a little more each season. Funny thing, what often happens to me when fishing for big browns here, is that I catch big mackinaw instead (the lures I use are too large, a friend tells me).
So this time, I pretty much figured with an 8 inch AC Plug, trolling areas near where Nevada Department of Wildlife recently stocked thousands of little rainbows, I was fishing for mackinaw. Just like the stripers down in Allan's neck of the woods, big lake trout hear the dinner bell when the hatchery truck backs down the boat ramp.
Well what do you know, I set out fishing for big mackinaw, and found that if they're big enough, browns will come in and eat the hatchery rainbows as well. My big hen had the digested remains of an 8 to 10 inch fish in her belly when I cleaned her. _________________ Mark Wiza Check out my website!
